Some feel to wait so long is a bit daunting and feel they shouldn't wait. But it is clear the High Elder is a busy man. Most spend their time practicing skills, relaxing, casting spells or making new items for them or others. Some pass the time researching great amounts of information ever eager to learn more. the night of the 9th, Arawn returns from his journey into the Sacred Forest of the Vassa lands some 400 odd miles west of the Dark Lands. But he doesn't return alone. Strie'bog returns with him. That night at dinner or around the Citadel Strie'bog beams at seeing some of his old friends who he just meet only eight odd months earlier. When the party went from the Ga'fel tribe to help Strie'bog's family and people, friendships were bonded for life. The party would help the Vassa people rid of threats not only to Bohusara but also to the forest itself. There they would first encounter the Gray Creatures at Lake Oca. Upon seeing most of the group at one place Strie'bog beams and hugs some of those he got to know well. "Greetings again my friends, it has been too long since I last enjoyed your company" Arawn says with pride and a slight sadness for deserting the group. But he knows he had to stay at home to help his people and his mother in her illness. Arawn continues, "My mother's heart is healing, and the forest once again safe. I feel the calling of the road once more, and have come to see if I can render assistance to you." Strie'bog especially makes reconnect with Ben'dar, Caladan, Chion, Unali and Z'leyra shaking their hands or embracing each. Caladan gives him a big Zen'dan hug and then backs up and looks to the sides and then behind Strie'bog. Caladan asks "Where is Boyzdar?" Caladan then notices Strie'bog glancing at the three he didn't get to know well or knows at all. Caladan then introduces them. "This big fellow over here is Raban Underwood. You and him might get along swiftly as he is also a Bard and entertainer. We picked him up recently and seems to want to stay with us even after he got hurt a few times." Caladan smiles and winks at Raban then turns and waves a right hand at Kiet. "This is Kiet Sunan, an acrobat and entertainer. He has a thing for ropes. Personally I think it goes back to his youth with girls." Caladan shakes his head and grins then moves onto Fremea. "You met Fremea shortly in the Sacred Forest. She has been a good help in our last mission. We picked up Kiet here in the Dark Lands and seems to like us for some reason. Come tell us about your days and we'll let you know about ours." That night Strie'bog and the others exchange past days and nights. Strie'bog learns of the flying island the party took on for the High Elder. A week after leaving the Chaos domain on the 10th of Apris Arawn and Fremea head into the forest after the Dirasa. At the same time Chion and Ben'dar teleport first to the Ga'fel tribe and then to Sivas. Soon the party learn the Dirasa raid went well and Chion teleports back. But Chion and Ben'dar also return with a old friend, Farseeker. The tall, broad shouldered man with gleaming weapons soon finds his friends. Farseeker soon explains he was busy with L'p'nth border disputes and military duty but is eager to help out and get back to the fun stuff. As with Strie'bog new introductions are made for those like Raban, Fremea and Kiet who he hasn't met yet. Over the next few days Oby and Suca meet with each person that went to the flying castle for debriefing. The three sit in a private room and get details on what happened. Oby takes efficient notes of each meeting. No one holds back any bit of information though Fremea feels the name of the Seker and Anwora shouldn't be given out. Names are powerful tools for Wizards and can be used to threaten as well as knowledge. But otherwise every shred of detail is given for recording. Oby ensures that each was paid well for their treasure here and in Marentia. All but Arawn got at least 91 gold from the castle and it is clear that Ki'ama cares little of the treasure at this point. For most of the sessions Suca remains quiet just observing and listening to Oby's questions. During Arawn's session Oby speaks up, "The meeting may contain aspects of things," he lifts his quill and tries to phrase more words "that might offend a person like you. If you feel that talking about the gods or ...their limits then it is recommended you do not attend." Confused Arawn asks follow up questions but Oby remains quiet simply implying it isn't his place to explain. Only later the night before the meeting does Arawn have a strange dream about taking on some god and wonders if that could be their mission? Would his parents send him down here, if indeed they did, just to have him return so quickly? Likely not that simple. Sessions with Ben'dar, Caladan, Chion, Kiet and Z'leyra all go well without incident or problems. For Ben'dar they are quite impressed with Ben'dar's long story of the battles. No doubt some exaggeration took place but he went on talking long hours once a beer was placed in front of him. For Caladan they mention only that his Firesnake should not go onto the next mission but does not explain why. For Chion, Oby explains that the death of the apprentice woman wasn't his fault. More details of that will be given later. But he did well to take her out of the battle quick. For Kiet's session Suca can tell he is quite nervous. After being attacked at the wedding it is clear his prowess as a fighter aren't as good as say Ben'dar's. But Suca explains that even his talents will be of use in the coming days. Though entering the meeting with doubt, Kiet leaves with more confidence. The session with Z'leyra takes a bit of time as she helps to try to decipher the magics of the flying castle. Oby does recommend that once she learns where she is going that any equipment she wishes to leave behind is welcome to stay here. Confused by that Z'leyra leaves without answers for now. The session with Unali takes half a day and to the party it is unclear why. But they seem to be talking about various important matters. Some wonder if Unali might even know where the party will be going to before the meeting? Oby is quite impressed by Fremea's explanation of the final hours of the flying castle. Oby believes she was the single most important factor to save the party and the captives there. But at the end Oby explains that while she was of great use to the party this time it might be a bit uncomfortable on the next mission. He simply explains that her basic build and appearance might hinder things. Fremea folds her arms and explains she has been working on disguises. Oby simply nods and sees Fremea out of the meeting room. As with Fremea, Oby explains that his size and build might also be awkward for the next mission. No details are given but that he might be a bit of a dragon among dwarves. Raban doesn't take it personally as he has heard such comments for years. Suca does ask Raban how he has the ability to fly and is curious about his background. But Oby seems to take no notes on that question as it seems less important to him. Oby and Suca do meet with Strie'bog but only briefly. They ask him various questions about his talents and spell knowledge. For Farseeker Suca is impressed with his skills and explains he will be greatly needed for the next mission. For most of the party the debriefing meetings aren't strange. After the Climan mission barely a year ago, the same was done then by Duke Aren and King Maros's inner circle. To record such events could help in the future and help when legends and myths become blurred. Oby explains the records will only be in High Elder Ki'ama's personal library in his Manor. Few outsiders will be allowed to see it. ------------------ [Apris 15th, 1634TH, 1st day of Adventure #5] [Location: High Elder's domain - Citadel, Dark Lands, Forest] Days later sunrise comes to the Citadel on the big day of the meeting. Some wake up with strange feelings of a weird dream. Ben'dar wakes up with a backache from a lump in his bed or was it the dream? Raban wakes up with a grin to his face for some reason but the others seem to dream of what was and what will be. Some in the party prepare for the meeting bathing, shaving, grooming and cleaning their clothes. Some dress in their best formal clothing. It is clear the High Elder doesn't care about such things but he is the sovereign ruler of this land and due that respect. As each person wakes and prepares the past few weeks are recalled back in memory. It has only been 20 days since the group left Marentia it seems. In just three weeks a quick adventure took place and each wonder how long the next will be. Each person forms up in front of the Manor house. AS before the guards demand weapons be given over and that any "dangerous" or "possible dangerous" magical items be scanned and then given over if need be. Since most, except Farseeker and Strie'bog, have gone through this before it is fast. Soon in the foyer of the manor the party mingles eager for the meeting. Some are dressed well but some have new things. Unali and Z'leyra look rather clean and their hair well groomed. Raban especially takes notice of that. Some notice Kiet now has two new pinky rings on his hands. Some have new armors and even weapons seen over the past few days. One of the more impressive sights is Raban in some nice looking fit leather armor. Zhou leaves after directing them all inside. Oby then directs the party now eleven strong to the feast hall. He explains a good breakfast is prepared. The meeting will be afterwards but Ki'ama is still preparing so will not be at the breakfast. On the way down the passages the party notices a new poster like board on one wall near the feast hall. Along with a Domain map it contains a roster of each Domain. It looks like nothing has changed since the first time the party came here. Itom must still be in power? The bulk of the domains are 9 Balance, only 4 Law and 19 Chaos. It is clear Chaos has a strong force here. This may be why ki'ama has such a hard time balancing the needs and wants of the 30 odd big wizards. At breakfast eggs of many kinds, ham, bacon, fruits, juices, soups, breads and other things are served in heaping amounts. Caladan asks about Sven and Oby explains he returned and helped the Ipanza return to their land in the north. He sends his regards but is busy with those matters. "Are there any questions or comments for the High Elder or to be answered you would like to supply?" Oby asks this question before he departs. Actions? Comments? Next Update...Friday... GM: As you may have noticed the format was changed a bit. The above is more "book" style. Do you guys like this or the old "movie/tv script" style better? I'm not quite used to this style yet so have to get it all down. Its a bit more formal and needs more formation. It is more story oriented. But the problem is in looking through many updates it will be harder to pick and choose things. For example in the old format finding dialogue was easy but in this format you'll have to do more reading. So that's one bad thing about it. Open to comments. GM: In case you didn't notice this last weekend the update changed. I moved adventure #4 to a link and it's own directory. It can still be viewed by a link. But this adventure is cleared of debris. Only thing on there now are important links for review if needed. Minor updates and changes to: * PBEM Summary - minor edits/changes * Items information file to be updated AFTER meeting * Contact file - Anyone want to add their contact info? * PBEM new player intro - for the new guys this is a good intro and reference. :) GM: Next update will be the big intro. It will be a BIG update. This is just a prep update for it. The real nitty gritty will be Friday. I have finally outlined the adventure in my head and have a good grasp on how best to kill..err I mean entertain the party. At this time Strie'bog is back in the game. I'll have more players to come soon. Stay tuned! If you want the Elder to cover any questions or comments or specific thing let me know. But he'll cover everything from the books, treasure and other things you might not think of. This is just a way to remind me of anything you may want answered or explained.
